Amy Bryant and the Student Athlete Advisors attended the HECA conference in San Antonio.

The conference offered a strong slate of sessions that addressed timely topics in college advising and athletics. Equally important were the opportunities to connect with independent educational consultants and college representatives throughout the week. Many of the conversations—both during and outside of scheduled programming—focused on shared challenges and best practices for supporting student-athletes and their families.

The Student Athlete Advisors team contributed to the conference by presenting a panel of coaches who provided their perspectives The panel included both Amy Bryant and Joe Slater, members of the Student Athlete Advisors and former coaches.

Following the conference, The Student Athlete Advisors visited several campuses in Austin, including Southwestern University, the University of Texas at Austin, and St. Edward’s University. During these visits, they met with Sport Management directors and associate athletic directors, toured athletic facilities, and gained firsthand insight into each campus environment. These experiences help inform their work and strengthen the guidance we provide to students and families.
