It’s about that time of year when families reach out to me with questions about walking on to a college team.  Often, student-athletes consider this option when they’ve been admitted to their dream college but failed to receive the recruiting interest they anticipated, fostering the hope that they can earn a spot later on.  What most families don’t realize is that these types of walk-on opportunities are rare, and even when they are presented, might not be ideal for a student-athlete’s holistic development. Learn more about the difference between a typical walk-on and a preferred walk-on in my video here.
